A different kind of VPN listing

Everything else in this category is a VPN provider. VPN Sites isn’t. It’s a comparison site that ranks 30 VPNs against each other, so you can pick one without opening thirty tabs. I treated it the way I’d treat any review site, which is with some respect and a little suspicion, since I write one myself.

The top five, in plain words

The homepage leads with a dark blue hero and a Top 5 VPN Sites panel: Surfshark, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, CyberGhost and Mullvad VPN. What I liked is the tone of the blurbs. They don’t just gush. Surfshark’s note warns that the intro price expires and renewal jumps to about $79 a year. NordVPN’s says renewal runs 3.3 times the intro price. CyberGhost’s points out there’s no one-year plan, so the cheap rate means 26 months paid up front. Mullvad’s even admits it has dropped port forwarding and doesn’t try to do streaming. That’s the kind of detail that actually saves you money.

The big comparison table

Below that sits the Top 30 VPNs For 2026 table, and it’s enormous. Columns cover score, privacy, speed, platforms, server count, locations, unblocked services (Netflix, Hulu, iPlayer, Disney+ and others), ad blocking, ease of use, game console and smart TV support, browser extensions, torrenting, max devices, log policy, data leaks, speed loss, support, trial and payment methods, and starting price. Each row ends with a Review link and a Get VPN button. There’s also a How We Rate Our VPNs section and a VPN FAQ.

One problem jumped out, though. The table puts NordVPN first as Best Value, ExpressVPN second for speed and Surfshark third as Most Popular, while the Top 5 panel above has Surfshark at number one. Two rankings on one page that disagree make me wonder which one is current. The Get VPN buttons look like affiliate links too, which is normal for this kind of site, but keep it in mind when reading the order.

Design and speed

The look is tidy: a pale header, a deep blue hero, a green Top 30 VPN Sites button and Montserrat text. On a big screen the table is impressive; on a phone, a table that wide means plenty of sideways scrolling, even though the site itself is responsive. The page is heavy, with hundreds of small images and logos, and it was slow to finish loading. There are no ads, though my scan did spot Yandex analytics.

Worth a visit?

As a quick research stop before buying a VPN, yes. The renewal-price warnings alone make it more useful than many shiny comparison sites. Just cross-check the ranking you care about with the provider’s own pricing page, and don’t treat either list as gospel.
