Ro89 Review

Search first, everything else second

Ro89 opens like a search engine should: a big rounded search bar in the middle of the header (‘Search videos, categories, sites…’), a blue Search button, and almost nothing else competing for your eye. It doesn’t host videos itself. It crawls free tubes and lists their videos in one place, so you can search once instead of opening five tabs. The meta description says it has indexed roughly 11.7 million tube videos, and a line above the results claims 602,178 new videos were added in the past 24 hours. That’s a lot of crawling.

The filters are the real feature

Right under the search bar sit three dropdowns and a sort bar, and this is where Ro89 earns its keep:

• Orientation: the default is ‘Standard (without gay and trans)’, with options for Only Straight, Only Gay, Only Trans, Only Homemade and Only Lesbian.
• Duration: Short (under 4 minutes), Medium (4 to 10) or Long (over 10).
• Source: pick a single site or search them all.
• Sort by: Best Match, Most Recent or Most Popular.

There’s also a Categories dropdown with about thirty mainstream picks (amateur, Asian, BBW, ebony, lesbian, MILF, POV, threesome and so on) and a language switcher on the right. Every result card shows the runtime, the source site, how long ago it was found and a click count. Small touches, but they help you skip the junk.

Where it falls short

Here’s my gripe. The description name-drops Pornhub, YouPorn, Tube8 and others, but when I checked, the site filter only offered TNAFlix and xHamster, and every result on the homepage came from one of those two. That might be down to the rebuild (more on that below), but right now the variety isn’t what the blurb suggests. Titles are also copied straight from uploaders, so you get lowercase usernames, odd spellings and the occasional link spam in a title. It’s a search index, not a curated library.

A site under construction

A pale yellow banner across the top says they’re testing a new back end ahead of a new website coming in 2027, and asks visitors to report anything odd. You can tell. A little load-time badge sits in the bottom right corner (mine read a bit over seven seconds) and there’s a settings cog in the bottom left. It feels like peeking into a workshop. Pages took a moment to fill in, though thumbnails arrived in a steady grid rather than jumping around.

Look, ads and safety

White background, blue link-style titles, system fonts, rounded pill buttons. It’s plain in a good way and very readable, and it scales fine on a phone. The scan found no ad networks at all, only Google analytics. No popups, no banners. Bear in mind that clicking a result takes you to the original tube, and that site’s own ads apply there.

Worth bookmarking?

For The Ninja, yes, with reservations. If you know what you want and hate wading through tube homepages, Ro89’s duration and orientation filters save real time, and the ad-free results page is a relief. Just expect a narrower source list than advertised until the 2027 rebuild lands.
