A phone screen on your desktop

Slushy doesn’t bother with a homepage in the usual sense. You click Continue on the entry notice and land on a dark charcoal page with a single phone-shaped video panel in the middle, like someone glued a TikTok feed to your monitor. A small slushy logo sits in the top left of that panel, mute, sparkle and search buttons in the top right, and two round up and down arrows float beside it for flicking between clips. The bold condensed headline font gives it a sporty, app-like look. Down in the corner are just three links: Privacy Policy, Terms and §2257.

The sign-up overlay comes first

Before I’d watched a thing, the first clip was covered by a pitch: a pink GET 50 FREE MESSAGES badge, the line Exclusive content from the hottest baddies, three bullet points promising no censorship, 1M+ reels you won’t find anywhere else and one-on-one chat with trending influencers, then a lime-green Join Free with Google button with More options underneath. A little KEEP SCROLLING hint at the bottom suggests you can carry on without joining, at least for a while.

What the feed is really for

The clips themselves are short, vertical creator videos. The one card I could read showed a creator handle, about 71.9K views and 34 likes, a Follow button and a caption inviting you to message her because she’s online. That’s the business model in a nutshell. Slushy is less a free video site and more a front door to paid direct messaging, where the free messages are a taster. I didn’t see a price list on the page; you’ll need an account to see what messages and subscriptions cost.

Because the scan only saw the landing view, I can’t vouch for how deep the library really goes beyond the 1M+ reels claim. Treat that number as marketing until you’ve scrolled a while yourself.

Speed and mobile

It feels a little sluggish on first load, since the page waits for the video panel and a stack of tracking scripts before it settles. Once it’s going, flicking between clips is smooth. And obviously it’s built for phones first; the desktop version is basically the mobile app with empty space around it.

Ads and tracking

There are no banner ads or pop-ups on the page, which is nice. Behind the scenes it’s a different story: the scan found TrafficJunky, Google’s DoubleClick, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity session recording. Clarity records how you scroll and click on the page, so if that bothers you, block it or use a private window.

The verdict

Slushy is a good fit if you actually want to chat with creators and like the swipe format. If you just want free videos without being steered toward a paid inbox, there are better options in this category.
