F95zone Review

A forum, not a store

If you’ve ever googled an adult visual novel, odds are an F95zone thread came up. It isn’t a polished game shop. It’s a forum, run on classic forum software, where every game gets its own thread with download info, version history, changelogs and pages of player discussion. The numbers are big. The Games board alone holds 28.2K threads and 14.7 million messages. When I dropped in, the sidebar said 68,262 people online (about half members, half guests), with a record of 131,778 back on October 22, 2026, and over 6,000 sign-ups that day. This place is busy.

Where to start

The left sidebar gives you Forums, New posts, Trending and Latest Updates. That last one is the real front page for most people: a feed of new games and new versions, tagged by engine (Ren’Py, Unity and so on) and status like Completed. The search bar in the header (press S to jump to it) searches threads, and it works well once you know a title.

Beyond games there’s a lot going on:

• Mods (4.7K threads), including translation mods
• Comics & Stills and Animations & Loops
• Programming, Development & Art with 11K threads, plus Recruitment & Services where devs find artists and writers
• Translation requests, very handy for Japanese titles
• Tools & Tutorials and a Troubleshooting board that actually gets answers

That developer side is what sets F95zone apart. It’s where a lot of indie adult game creators hang out, post dev threads and get feedback.

The look

A dark grey theme with brick-red section headers and clean Noto Sans text. It’s tidy for a forum this size, with thread and message counts in neat columns and a Latest posts panel on the right. It’s responsive, so it holds up on a phone. You’ll want an account to get the most out of it; Log in and Register sit in the top right.

Speed

Slow. The page is packed with live stats, avatars and ad scripts, and it took a long time to fully settle on my visit. Thread pages with hundreds of posts can drag too.

Ads: the annoying part

This is where the ninja frowns. A red banner across the very top pushes an AI roleplay site. Half the sidebar is sponsor links dressed as menu items (AI Porn, Live Sex Cams, AI Hentai and similar). Worse, a couple of rows inside the forum list look exactly like boards but are ads for AI chat apps, with very crude headlines. The scan also found popunder code and two ad networks. An ad blocker isn’t optional here.

One more caution: files linked in threads come from outside hosts. Stick to well-known file hosts, read the latest replies before downloading, and scan anything you grab.

Verdict

For finding, tracking and discussing adult games, nothing beats F95zone’s depth and community. Just armour up against the ads and be careful with downloads. If you enjoy a game you find here, support its developer.
