Small files are the whole point

PornRips.to is the home base of a release tag called PRT, and the subtitle under the logo sums it up: 1080p and 720p HEVC x265 releases. HEVC is a modern video codec that squeezes files down a lot without wrecking the picture. So instead of a 3 GB scene you’ll often get something a third of that size. If your storage is limited or your connection is slow, that’s the selling point.

A quick tour

It’s a plain WordPress blog with a light grey background, white post cards and a blue accent colour. The header has just three links: Requests, Contact and ThePornDude. The right sidebar holds a search box, a tiny category list (1080p, 720p and Announcements), an RSS link, a Torrent Feed and a recent comments box. Honestly, the comments box is mostly filled with keyboard-mash usernames, which looks like spam nobody is cleaning up.

Each post is a two-column card titled with the full release name, like Studio.YY.MM.DD.Performer.Title.XXX.1080p.HEVC.x265.PRT, followed by the poster, date, File Size and Duration. Most scenes appear twice, once at 720p and once at 1080p, so you can pick your trade-off.

What’s being posted

A broad mix of paysite studios. On the first page alone I counted AssholeFever, Arousins, ALS Angels, Watch4Beauty, SinnSage, PrimeMature, PornWorld, SexMex and PornMegaLoad, all dated the same day. The numbers show what HEVC buys you: a 34-minute 1080p scene at 645 MB, a 31-minute one at about 1 GB, a 20-minute scene at 355 MB in 1080p and 233 MB at 720p. Pagination runs to 7,513 pages, so the archive is enormous.

The catch is browsing. There are no real genre categories, only resolution, so you either search by studio or performer name or scroll through release names. Preview images come from an outside image host and didn’t always load for me, leaving big empty boxes above some posts.

Speed and ads

It loads at a fair pace for a page full of image previews, and scrolling is smooth. The ad situation is excellent for a download site: no ad networks, no popups and no fake download buttons on the page itself. The only outside services are Google Fonts, Cloudflare analytics and the image host. Downloads go through external hosts or the torrent feed, and that’s where you’ll meet the usual ad pressure, so keep a blocker running.

One honest note: these are encodes of paid studio content posted without permission. It’s free here because the studios aren’t being paid.

Mobile

The theme is responsive, and the cards collapse into one column on a phone. Long release names wrap awkwardly, but it’s usable.

The Ninja’s take

If small, efficient files in decent HD are what you want, PRT’s encodes are hard to beat and the site itself is clean. If you want to browse by mood or genre, the resolution-only categories make it hard work.
