GifHQ Review

The pitch is in the name

GifHQ’s page title says it plainly: Best HQ Porn GIFs of the Week. The idea is a feed of short loops that actually look good, rather than the pixelated, washed-out GIFs that still float around forums. To its credit, the site plays its clips through Video.js with HLS streaming, so you’re really watching short video loops, which is how it keeps them crisp.

Getting in takes a moment

When my visit landed, the screen was solid black with a ring of white dots spinning in the centre. Everything on GifHQ is pulled in by script after the page opens, so there’s a short pause before the feed shows up. Not a dealbreaker, but on a slow phone connection you’ll notice it. Once the content arrives, the scroll itself is smooth enough.

I can’t give you an honest count of how many loops are in here, because the homepage doesn’t show one and the feed loads as you go. The site’s own description runs through the familiar niches (POV, lesbian, amateur, MILF, Japanese, Latina, Indian and more), so the range looks broad, but treat that as the site’s claim rather than my tally.

Sorting through the loops

The controls are simple, and I like that. Up top you choose between Hottest, Newest and Random. The Best Of menu gives you 24 hours, week, month and all time, which is handy when you just want the cream without scrolling forever. Then there’s a type filter: All, Videos, Images and With Source. That last one is the reason I’d come back, since it limits the feed to loops tied to their original scene.

There’s a search box as well, a Site App link for saving it to your home screen, and the usual 2257 and DMCA pages in the menu. Headings are set in tall, condensed Oswald, and the build is mobile-friendly.

The ad side of things

This is where GifHQ loses points. The scan caught popunder code and scripts from an adult traffic network, plus live-cam thumbnails feeding the Live Sex and Live Sex Streams menu items. In practice that means the odd surprise tab when you click and cam promos mixed into the navigation. Nothing I’d call dangerous, just tiresome.

Bottom line

GifHQ is a no-frills, free GIF feed that puts quality first and makes it easy to grab the week’s best. The slow scripted start and popunders hold it back. Pair it with an ad blocker and use the source filter, and it’s a decent quick-hit site.
