The site everyone already knows

There’s no point pretending XVideos needs an introduction. It’s the tube most people land on first, and after clicking through the ENTER – I am 18 years old or older gate, the homepage looks exactly as plain as you’d expect. White background, Arial everywhere, a wide search bar in the middle that reads Search X videos, and a row of icons underneath: Best Videos, Categories, Channels, Pornstars, RED videos, Live Cams, Dating, Girlfriend, Profiles and Games. Over on the left are three small dropdowns for language, country and orientation (it defaulted to Straight), and on the right you’ll find account, a contrast toggle and settings.

It isn’t pretty. It is, however, very easy to scan, and that’s the whole point.

What’s actually in the grid

Four columns of thumbnails, each tagged with a resolution badge. On my visit plenty of them said 1440p or 1080p, with the odd 720p mixed in, and a lot carried a CC badge for captions, which is a small touch most tubes skip. The clips on the front page were mostly short to mid-length, between two and thirty minutes, from a mix of studio channels and amateur uploaders with their own channel names under each title.

The most striking thing is how international it is. Titles on the homepage were in English, Portuguese, Spanish and German side by side, and the menu has a dedicated Porn in your language option. I also noticed uploads clearly labelled [AI GENERATED], so that content is here too, at least marked as such. The category list is massive, covering everything from ASMR and amateur to mature, lesbian, femdom and dozens more.

Getting around

The search is the real workhorse, and it handles odd phrases better than you’d think. Channels and Pornstars are useful when you know what you like, and Best Videos is a decent shortcut if you don’t. A thin cookie bar sits along the bottom until you close it with the X.

Speed

Our test connection made it look slower than it is, but in normal use the thumbnails pop in fast and the pages are light. It’s a responsive layout too, so on a phone the grid simply collapses to fewer columns and keeps working.

Ads, RED and the upsells

Compared to most free tubes, the homepage is fairly restrained. I spotted a single tile marked AD sitting in the grid like a normal video, and the scan found a TrafficFactory-style ad server plus a popunder script, so the occasional extra tab on click is possible. The bigger nag is the menu itself: Live Cams, Dating, Girlfriend and Games are partner links, not part of the library. RED videos is the paid, ad-free premium tier; check the RED page for current pricing, since the homepage doesn’t list it.

My take

XVideos wins on sheer size and on how quickly you can find something in your language. The design is stuck in another decade and the partner links get tiresome, but for a free tube that just works, it’s still the benchmark the others are measured against.
